OUR STORY

MAS D’EN CAMO

It came time to get off my ass and say: “What I’m creating for myself is probably something you would like as well”. I realized that i was lucky to be surrounded by craftspeople who helped bring my One-of-a Kind pieces to life. Now i’ve created more, for you. Each is – One-of-a-Kind and perfectly imper-fect.

Fabric scraps I’ve been collecting for years - now pillows. Leather remnants from Italy create unique seating by the incredibly talented Mon at Nubuckcuir. Messieurs Mathis &David forge chairs and table bases in Cerét, France. Mar-ble and stone remnants, sourced locally have a new purpose as cocktail ta-bles. Aurelie has helped to turn some thoughts into a whisper on hand-blown, recycled glass. Amy Korb in Brooklyn, brought stoneware ceramics to life – (I had been dreaming of those for years). Manu and Celine with the help of some good friends worked the olive fields to produce Charlie Olive Oil – it couldn’t be more organic. An obsession with smell, and an old house with three dogs called for – handmade candles, using found treasures (I have enough tooth-brush cups)... and well, you get the idea.

I started each of these thing for one basic reason, I just wanted something I wouldn’t see somewhere else. Something that wasn’t made in China. Some-thing that felt unique, and something I’d want to have around as long as possible.

The products came out of true need and desire for my own home. A big, old 300 yr. old house, in need of some work and sunlight made things pretty simple – Color to brighten it up. Less is more – keeping it simple and not old-school. Lastly - unique, because it too is a unique home.

Candles: between dogs, and two fireplaces, and big rooms that are sparse it needs simple warmth. The stone Slab-Cocktails tables, because wood added to the darkness of an old Mas (farm house) and like the house they’re durable, functional and unique. Next to beds for summer guests, in between chairs when raining makes the entertaining move inside. Not precious, because dogs, kids and guests in a farmhouse, it’s hard to keep it precious. Throw pillows and blankets, because boredom sets in, or the seasons change, and lets be honest who can afford to change everything and if you can afford it how has the time? I don’t. I can quickly change up some rooms quickly and inexpensively and best of all I don’t fully need to commit. Ceramics & cocktails follow the same theory. We spend a lot time surrounded by friends up here on the mountain top. We’re luck to have some many people that want to see us. The most social of social activities: enjoy a drink together before sharing a meal together.
